Jonas J Smith Conservative Party of Canada Yukon candidate

Meet The Candidate

My name is Jonas and with your support, I would be honoured to be Yukon’s next Member of Parliament.

I am the third generation to call Yukon home. My wife Erika and I are proud to be raising the fourth – our beautiful daughters Ivy and Liv. Some of you may know me in my current professional and community roles with the Klondike Placer Miners’ Association (KPMA), the Yukon Producers’ Group, and Every Student, Every Day – Victoria Gold’s volunteer student attendance charity. Others may know me through positions I held serving our former Premier or as President of the Yukon Party.

Reaching further back, I may have served your table during my time in the hospitality industry or helped you sound your best on stage while providing technical support during my time in the arts sector. I may have even shared the stage with you. Whether you remember me with long hair in a heavy metal band or working on behalf of Yukoners in a suit and tie, what my family and I would like you to know about me is simple and runs true in each and every thing I do and have ever done. I believe in personal choice and wish that for all Yukoners.

I believe it is incumbent upon all Canadians to serve our country in the capacity in which we are most experienced and best suited, and I view public office as my opportunity to fulfill this duty and it would be a privilege to do so on your behalf.

I truly believe we can balance our priorities and our values. With your support, we can achieve this together.

Jonas J. Smith
